Task Forces
The following task forces have operated in the past and completed their work:
- Runtime Task Force
- In 2008, the Runtime Task Force brought together leading developers from the Ajax community (OpenAjax Alliance members and non-members) to produce a unified and prioritized browser wishlist for the most critical features needed by the Ajax developer community.
- Mobile Task Force
- In 2008-2009, the Mobile Task Force prepared most of the content for the white paper on mobile web development and did early industry work on mobile device APIs, which was subsequently transitioned to OMTP BONDI and W3C.
- Security Task Force
- The Security TF prepared most of the content for the white paper on Ajax and Mashup Security and had various miscellaneous initiatives around multiple security issues.
- Communications Hub Task Force
- This Task Force explored what OpenAjax Alliance might do in the general area of client-server communications, but with particular focus on Comet-style server push. After work on use cases, requirements, API proposals and some open source work, the task force was merged into Interoperability Working Group in August 2007. The members of the Communications Hub Task Force and Interoperability Working Group decided the best course of action was to include communications hub features within the OpenAjax Hub 1.1 effort, which is happening within the Interoperability Working Group.
- IDE Task Force
- After exploring what OpenAjax Alliance should do in the area of standards in the area of Ajax IDEs, the decision was to transition the task force into the formally chartered IDE Working Group.
- Server Task Force
- This Task Force was merged into Communications Hub Task Force in early 2007. The Server Task Force concluded that the primary focus of activity overlapped significantly with the activity that was happening within the Communications Hub Task Force.
