Minutes
OAA interop call, 10/18/06
[edit]
Topic: SourceForge tasks from last week
- Have Alex and Lindsey checked in their source code?
- Has source code been separated into four JavaScript files?
- Other news?
- old business - Jon: oaa.js checkin holding up development - Alex: oaa.js has now been checked in - original oaa.js would be split up into 5 separate JS files - concat/packed for distribution - looking for volunteers, but no one volunteered, so Jon will handle
[edit]
Topic: SourceForge mailing lists
- We already have a hidden/private list for member IPR declarations (openajaxallianc-new-contributor@lists.sourceforge.net)
- Proposal: add openajaxallianc-contributors@lists.sourceforge.net, subscribers must have completed IPR process
- Proposal: add openajaxallianc-committers@lists.sourceforge.net
- Proposal: non-contributors can contact us via the openajax public email list (currently openajax@yahoogroups.com)
- need to set up mailing lists for SF project - a single, hidden list currently set up for iP tracking - proposal: creating 2 lists, one for contributors, one for committers - counter-proposal: one list for contributors+committers - only folks who have sent in an IPR declaration can be members of these lists - decided: Jon will set up a single additional mailing list for all contributors
[edit]
Topic: SourceForge trackers
- Proposal: Two trackers, one for Bugs and one for Features
- Publicly available
- Disallow non-logged-in postings
- Display the resolution box
- For new submissions, send emails to add openajaxallianc-contributors@lists.sourceforge.net
- bug tracking - no trackers currently set up - proposal: tracker for bugs, and one for features - resolution: if bug tracking system can distinguish between bugs as features, use a single bug tracker
[edit]
Topic: Test cases
- Do submitted tests conform to a reasonable naming convention?
- test cases - vic proposed changes to Jame's tests - may need to rename current test cases - will review offline
[edit]
Topic: index.html - OK to have a single file for now (trunk/index.html)?
- index.html has been submitted - acts as table of contents for project - contributors an committers will decide on appropriateness later
[edit]
Topic: Process issues
- Security Working Group - OK to start working on draft charter? Who wants to help?
- Task Forces
- IDE integration
- Server-side integration
- Communications/messaging. Greg has created a wiki page: Interoperability Communication
- process issues - 2 new documents - development process from Mike M - interop working group charter - generally, a formalization of working process - irc question: what if working groups don't get 5 responses to charter? - Jon: working group can't form, sufficient interest is required - security working group - volunteers to form working group - greg murray from Sun - someone from IBM - Alex Russell - need proposal and charter document - David and Jon will start working on this next week - need to reach out to John Crupi to make him aware of working group formation - task forces - IDE taskforce - greg murray, Sun - Kevin Hakman, TIBCO (coordinator/chair) - Server-side integration - Chris from Oracle (coordinator/chair) - work on JSF stuff will continue - Greg Wilkins' proposal - Coach proposes a task force for this - Coach will volunteer to chair - kickoff will happen soon, coordinated via wiki - cross-site messaging is one topic, Gideon suggests this might be a browser feature - Jon says each TF should - create a wiki page - send announcement of tf to member-interop@openajaxalliance.org - mentioning the wiki page - inviting people to join TF - providing date/time for kick-off phone call - at kick-off meeting, talk about - process issues such as email vs wiki vs phone calls - schedule for phone calls - who will be lead for which documents and other necessary assignments
