Minutes
JG: Review of rule sets: now have "Transitional" and "ARIA"
jongund: /member/wiki/WCAG_2.0_Principle_2_Operable_Rules#Requirement_2.4.2_Page_Titled
JG: In future, want people to use main landmark; but currently at UI we are using H1 in conjunction with TITLE
TITLE 1: VIOL in both Trans. and ARIA
TITLE 2: H1s and landmark main
Rich: What if you have portlet and in an iframe you have a document with an H1?
Nick: Is there a general principle re. content that you don't control?
JG: TITLE 1 is meant as a design guideline addressing how H1s should be used when you're also using landmark=main make that role=main
jongund: /member/wiki/WCAG_2.0_Principle_2_Operable_Rules#Requirement_2.4.1_Bypass_Blocks
JG: HEADING 1 in transitional ruleset says that each page must have at least one non-empty H1
JG: Changing HEADING 1 to Recommendation for Transitional Ruleset
JG: 2.4.2: TITLE 2 as Recommendation still makes sense?
Consensus seems to be in agreement
JG: TITLE 3 okay? It will become obsolete, only in Transitional
NH: For TITLE 3, what about looking at first H1 only?
JG: TITLE 4: JAWS truncates chars at 150?
Consensus for TITLE 4: okay for EN
JG: TITLE 5: Unique TITLE across web pages
JG: manual check
Consensus: okay
JG: Changing TITLE 4 to P2
David: Does WCAG talk about focusable elements?
JG: WCAG addresses interactive elements
JG: If there's only one interactive object, do you pass FOCUS ORDER 1?
JG: Changing FOCUS ORDER 1 to more than one link, form control and/or widget
JG: 2.4.4: aria-describedby
JG: LINK 1: accessible text of links with different HREFs should be unique
NH: Keep both as recommendations?
David: I agree
JG: LINK 2: should links with same HREF have same link text?
JG: Have a new result called Warning
JG: means it's something you should examine, but does not affect your a11y score
JG: LINK 2 could be a warning?
JG: so warning means that the markup doesn't make sense
Ann: Should be warning be called Advisory?
JG: What's the difference between Recommendation and Advisory?
JG: Could change Advisory to Informational
JG: E.g. broken links could be informational
JG: For LINK 1, what about uniqueness within the same landmark?

JG: Next week will pick up with further discussion on 2.4.4
